The agency offers to climbers and travellers from the Europe, USA, Japan and other countries
ADVENTURES WITH CET "NEVA"
Center of Extreme Tourism St.-Petersburg, Russia
Travel agency CET "Neva" had been organized in 1990. Initially it was thought to offer adventurous tours on territory of the ex-USSR. However, very soon our activity extended far abroad and sometimes now CET "Neva" groups may be met in different countries and even on other continents.
We tender mountain expeditions, hikes, ski-tours and mountain heli-ski, rafting in many wild and remote places. City sightseeing tours of St.Petersburg and its noteworthy suburbs can also be arranged. During the travels, not only do our clients look at what is around them through bus windows but also we live inside and together with the nature not touched by civilization. It does not imply that only outdoor experts can participate in our tours, anybody of any age who is healthy and mentally energetic may join us on our adventures.
Among our typical tours, you may find ascents of the highest mountains everywhere in the ex-USSR space, such as highest European mountain Elbrus (5642m) on the Caucasus, peak Lenin (7134m), peak Ismail Samoni - ex-Communism (7495m, the tallest peak of the ex-USSR had been renamed by Tajikistan Government in the fall 1998), peak E.Korzhenevskoy (7105m) in Pamirs, Khan-Tengri (7010m) and Pobeda (Victory peak, 7439m) in the Central Tian-Shan; and also climbs on lesser summits in Central Caucasus and in Pamir-Alai, expeditions to Himalaya, treks in Altai and Caucasus, ski-tours in Caucasus and Kola Peninsula to the north from St.Petersburg.
Successful high mountain expeditions for russian clients have been organized to the date: in 1995 and 2006 to Mt. McKinley (6194m), Alaska, and in 1996 to Mt. Dhaulagiri (8160m), Himalaya. During the latter, Anatoly Moshnikov, the agency director, summited in atrocious weather conditions. Our experience in Himalaya is not restricted by Dhaulagiri only: two times Moshnikov summited on Mt.Everest from the North without oxygen. At the first time it had been in 1990, in J.Whittaker"s Peace Climb trilateral expedition. Then in 1998, together with a french client he had taken part in a big Russian expedition again from the North. They both summited but all successful ascents had been darkened with tragical death of two other climbers from the expedition. Another CET "Neva" guide, Nicholas Totmianin, reached altitude of 8400m whilst climbing the south face of Mt. Lhotze (8455m) in 1990, but had to go down to accompany his sick friend. In February 1997 the team of our guides climbed up "the Death Wall" - the North Face of Eiger in the Swiss Alps along John Harlin"s route. To conclude the account about interesting trips realized by CET Neva personnel, one should mention that in April 1997 a CET "Neva" group guided by Moshnikov had reached the North Pole.
The guides of CET "Neva" have a great outdoor background, all of them have passed the excellent school of soviet/russian mountaineering and rock climbing, some of them have qualified as"instructors of alpinism". In 1993-94 a group of CET "Neva"guides participated in a coaching school organized on the Caucasus by l"ENSA (l"Ecole National de Ski et d"Alpinisme, Chamonix, France). Since we started, many travelers from France, USA, Spain, Switzerland, Great Britain, Norway, Belgium, Japan, Germany, Turkey, Luxembourg and, of course, from Russia participated in our enterprises. To our pleasure, many of them have become our friends and/or our regular clients. The relations to foreign travellers are assisted with our guides" language skill - all of them speak English, also there are people in our personnel speaking French, Spanish.
The agency CET "NEVA" meets all necessary state requirements to run international tourist business. We have both tourist operator state license and the tourist agent one, the agency is registered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, so we can provide necessary visa support letters.
